water cooler chat
If you’re new here, welcome to my newsletter - where I share quick, easy-to-digest golden nuggets on enterprise AI, business, and life.
Now onto this week’s issue…
🤦🏼♂️Real water cooler conversation (at our client’s office):

“Josh said Connor was an idiot for volunteering to work on the deck.”
“Yeah, that’s because Connor actually knows what he’s doing. Josh is just a glorified PM. But he’s close to Pam, so he just rides along, you know?”
“Right, but now we’re all under the radar. I bet Chris’s team is dreaming of outsourcing their crap to us. And everyone knows Chris will get away with it. Him and Josh are golf buddies.”
Politics in a company is a red flag.
Politics is just a game people start playing when they don’t know how to win the real game.
Because leadership stopped reminding them what game they are playing.
So instead, they create their own rules — rules that only serve one goal: looking good to their manager.
But that’s the opposite of what they should be doing.
The real goal? Win as a team.
Take professional soccer teams.
They know two things:
1. What a win means today (score more goals than the other team).
2. Where they want to be in five years (win the cup).
This is where custom enterprise AI solution changes the game.
AI can expose inefficiencies and politics for what they are: wasted time.
It will:
- Create optimized routes inside the org by automating routine approvals and information flow.
- Track and predict project bottlenecks before they blow up.
- Provide real performance data, not the “who’s close to the boss” kind of visibility.
- Take the grunt work off talented people like Connor, so their work speaks louder than politics ever could.
When AI starts handling the repetitive noise, people have no choice but to play the real game:
Build. Ship. Win together.
That’s all for this week…but one more thing. If you’re enjoying this, can you do me a favor and forward it to a friend? Thanks.
